Newsletter February 2025
Hello my friend, here is a newsletter from me.
It seems that a lot of people are jumping ship from the major corporate social media / surveillance platforms, and I applaud those who do. I have used Mastodon as my main social media platform for a while, and it is great. I highly recommended joining it – there’s a really vibrant community on there and the vibes are great. Click here to follow me or go here to follow Exformal Records. This is truly a time for digital independence for artists and others alike, and it is very exciting!
Below are a few news items that might interest you.

Vibrations, audio and electronics: Workshop in Oslo
From April 2025, I will be exhibiting some sound sculptures at NOTAM, and in conjunction with that I will host a workshop on the topic of haptic feedback and audio – that is haptic as in vibration motors as you know them from sex toys and phones etc. It is a practical workshop where we will explore the language of vibrations using this custom electronic circuit I designed.
Time: 23rd of April, 2025, 6pm to 9 pm.
Exformally excited
Last year I started Exformal Records as a platform for experimental sounds, music, thoughts and listening practices. It was a slow start and it took me quite a while to figure out how to do everything and make the website really nice. The reason for this was to make me and my friends independent of the large corporate platforms that are clearly failing everyone else at the moment.
One amazing thing that happened this year was the release of Pulse for the Change / Breath-piece by Johanna Borchert and Anders Vestergaard.
And soon, a new and SUPERDUPER exciting project will be HERE. Can you guess what it is? (You can’t, but still, try…).
Sound and Music Computing Conference call
I’m part of the reviewing committee at IEM’s SMC conference. There’s still a few days left to submit a piece – please do!
Crumbs
Here are a few things I enjoy these days:
- 📚 I just finished reading The Castle by Franz Kafka, and while I read it, I LOL’d quite a lot but now it just really haunts me. To help me digest it, I am reading the wonderful K., and both of these are really opening up my mind to new ways of seeing the bizarre inter-connections in our society in a new light (or, rather, darkness…).
- 🎵 Listening to On The Other Ocean by David Behrman. Mega underrated piece of serene beauty.
